For Donald Garibay, service is more than part of his history. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Donald joined the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, serving from 1971 to 1974 as a Boatswain’s Mate Second Class (BM2). His military service shaped the values that would guide his life: duty, resilience, compassion, and a lifelong commitment to those who have served alongside him.
After returning home, Donald built a life centered on family and hard work. He and his wife have shared more than 50 years of marriage, raised two sons, and now cherish their growing family of grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. But the veterans he served with — including those who never made it home and those who returned carrying burdens of their own — have never been far from his heart.
That compassion became the foundation for Veterans At Ease Property Management: a vision to acquire, restore, and provide housing where veterans can live with stability, dignity, and peace of mind.
Donald believes veterans deserve more than gratitude. They deserve a safe place to land. A place to rebuild. A place where they can finally feel at ease.
